  1. Marcin Niemiec

The administrative law was taught and studied at the Faculty of Law of the University of Wrocław from the academic year 1945/1946 in the Department of Administrative Studies and Administrative Law, which in 1950 was transformed into the Department of Administrative Law; and since 1969 it has been taught in a still existing Division of Administrative Law at the Institute of Administrative Sciences.
In the early years of the Department of Administrative Law the general course of research was led by Prof. Tadeusz Bigo and Prof. Franciszek Longchamps de Bérier — the creators of the Wrocław School of Administrative Law. Prof. Tadeusz Bigo focused on the study of organisations of public administration, whereas Prof. Longchamps conducted multidirectional research in the area of administrative law and administrative science.
Their successors dealt with more detailed problems. Prof. Jan Jendrośka dealt with administrative procedures, while Prof. Jan Boć focused on the legal problems of a citizen and the legal environment of public administration.
The current directions of research in the Division of Administrative Law are as follows: Prof. Marcin Miemiec and Piotr Lisowski, PhD deal with the legal environment of public administration, especially one concerning local government as well as the local law; the latter also studies educational law; Prof. Jolanta Blicharz focuses her research on the legal position and the participation of NGOs in public administration, the relationship between public administration and civil society in implementing social policies and the social and legal exclusion, including mobbing; Aleksandra Szadok-Bratuń, PhD, studies interdisciplinary issues of administrative law, canon law, religious law and philosophy of law; the subject of study of Rafał Mikowski, PhD are the legal issues concerning processing of information in public administration, particularly the protection of classified information, as well as the legal position of special services; Maciej Błażewski, MA, explores the issues relating to construction law.
The employees of the Division of Administrative Law co-authored oft-reprinted and acclaimed coursebook Prawo administracyjne [Administrative Law], edited by J. Boć, which in 1999 received the Award of the Minister of National Education.
